bluegrass mandolin master Steve Smith!
Steve Smith and Chris Sanders with Bill Amatneek (bass)
Original and traditional acoustic music for mandolin, mandola and guitar with the best in duo singing
Steve Smith (mandolin, mandola, guitar, vocals) and Chris Sanders (guitar, vocals) have been appearing together for five years as a duo and in the Las Cruces, New Mexico based group “Steve Smith and Hard Road”. Their music has grown from Steve’s love of bluegrass rooted in his native Virginia and the beauty of choral singing ever-present in Chris’ Minnesota childhood. Together, this north/south heartbeat and lilt provide their unique approach to Bluegrass and Americana.
In performances across the country, this pair of life-long musicians has captured audiences with the depth of their songwriting and the power of their distinctive voices. Steve and Chris’ latest Hard Road CD “Only So Fast” features their signature duo blend, virtuoso mandolin playing, and songs ranging from Old-time and bluegrass to modern Americana including the 2009 NM Award winners “Save Me” for best gospel and “This Dream” for best bluegrass.
Their latest CD “Signs Along the Road” (released Jan 2010) is receiving national and international airplay on folk and bluegrass shows and is climbing the folk charts.
“…the warmth, depth, and expressiveness of Sanders' voice shines…”
Bluegrass Unlimited November 2008
“…Steve Smith's…music uncoils around the listener like a desert breeze…”
Mandolin Café (Mandolin Magazine)
A superbly, star-studded performance...the duet delivers a divine offering of profound lyrics, passionate instrumentalism, silky harmonies, and witty stage banter. Whether on a large stage or in a small setting, the same intimacy and grace of human expression through music, always shines through.

Yes and Peter Frampton
Progressive rock melodies and tasty guitar riffs are what’s in store with this classic rock double bill featuring two of the most influential and ground-breaking artists of the 1970s on stage together! The concert will feature more than three hours of music and is sure to include YES classics like "I've Seen All Good People" and "Starship Trooper," as well as Frampton hits like "Show Me The Way," "Baby, I Love Your Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."
YES, one of rock history’s greatest progressive rock bands and one of the most popular concert attractions of all-time, just wrapped up a February USA tour. The band’s remarkable career has served to re-define the boundaries of rock. As a dominant force for more than four decades, YES has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Their symphonic use of sound and innovative musical styles has made each of the group's players a virtuoso in his own right. The YES lineup continues to feature guitarist Steve Howe, bassist and founding member Chris Squire, and drummer Alan White, as well as Oliver Wakeman (son of keyboard legend Rick Wakeman) on keyboards, and lead singer Benoit David.
Peter Frampton, who recently won a Grammy Award for his instrumental album Fingerprints, remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. His fifth solo album, the electrifying Frampton Comes Alive!, is one of the top selling live records of all time. He’ll be performing material from his forthcoming release Thank You Mr Churchill (out April 27, 2010). Frampton’s band will include Rob Arthur (keyboards, guitar, and backing vocals) and John Regan (bass), as well as Adam Lester (guitar) and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).
Frampton and Yes performed stadium shows together in 1976, including a show to more than 100,000 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.

Michael McDonald
Singer/songwriter Michael McDonald, of The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan fame, brings his distinctive, instantly recognizable voice and a suitcase full of hits to the stage in Santa Rosa. With his husky, soulful baritone, diverse range, and an incredible popular appeal, McDonald has been entertaining audiences with his own brand of "blue-eyed soul" for over three decades. He’s known for catchy and inspirational pop music influenced in equal parts by Memphis-style soul, rhythm and blues, and soulful ballads. With The Doobies he brought us “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Minute by Minute,” and, unforgettably, the Number One single “What a Fool Believes.” As a solo artist, he is the creator of such hits as “I Keep Forgettin’," the Grammy-winning “Yah Mo B There," and the Number One pop single “On My Own." Most recently, McDonald released two highly successful albums of classic Motown covers and his latest album of favorite covers, Soul Speak.
